Welcome to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary 8315, Schertz, TX. My name is Judy
Baggett, President, Ladies Auxiliary.
We live by our motto: "Honor the dead by helping the living". We set
out to serve the Veterans of this Country and our communities as a
testament to the sacrifices and commitment of every man and woman who
has served in uniform.
We have numerous programs that we are involved with such as Voice of
Democracy Scholarships to local high school students, Veterans Support,
Hospital, Cancer Aid & Research, Americanism, and Youth Activities, just
to name a few.
The next few months we have numerous activities that we will be doing:
October: Fire Prevention/Safety poster contest at local elementary
schools;
November: November 1st Turkey Bingo; Voice of Democracy and Patriot's
Pen Scholarships to area high school students; November 9th @ 7:00
p.m. Pow/MIA ceremony; this ceremony is open to the public and a great
way to pay respect and to remember those who are still listed as
Prisoners of War/Missing In Action;
December: December 6th Turkey Bingo; 18th Angel Tree party with Santa
@ 2:00 p.m.; 19th Post Christmas Party with Santa and Voice of Democracy
scholarship winners 4:00 p.m.
We have a breakfast every 3rd Saturday of the month from 7:30 - 11:00;
every other month the ladies cook, please come out and enjoy a great
breakfast.
We also have our kitchen open every Wednesday and Friday nights for
bingo; hours are 6:00 - 8:45 or so, please come out and enjoy good eats,
and bingo!
We have a great team this year, thanks to all you ladies. I couldn't
do this without any of your continued support.
